About the Event
Do you get stuck at the beginning of a project (too many ideas, loss of focus, fear of the blank page) or in the middle and end (procrastination, plot wanders in the muddy middle, spinning wheels)? Join middle grade author Sylvia Liu as she shares practical exercises and tips to unlock creativity at the start of a project and push through blocks during the writing and revision process. Sylvia Liu grew up with books and daydreams in Caracas, Venezuela. Once an environmental attorney protecting the oceans, she now spins stories about nature, strong girls, and the intricacies of family and friendship. Her middle grade books include Now That We Don’t Talk, Stealing the Score, Near and Deer, Hana Hsu and the Ghost Crab Nation, and Manatee’s Best Friend, and her picture book, A Morning with Grandpa, won the Lee and Low New Voices Award. She co-runs the kid lit resource website Kidlit411 and lives in Virginia. Visit her website at enjoyingplanetearth.com.
