5 Picture Book Agents Open to Submissions Now

Sally is open to queries from the 1st to the 15th of each month, and only accepts submissions via QueryTracker.

According to the agency website: “Sally is looking to represent a wide range of children’s book authors, illustrators, and author-illustrators. She is drawn to stories with a distinct voice, unexpected wit, aggressive pacing, punchy and/or emotionally resonant endings. When it comes to illustration, she gravitates to versatile artists using traditional mediums and those with a unique take on color, texture, perspective, and unexpected details.”

🚨She is not the best fit for rhyming picture books.

Ashlee is open to picture book author-illustrators and illustrators ONLY at this time.

According to the agency website, “She gravitates toward high-concept, commercial fiction with bold storytelling, standout pacing, and a distinct voice that grabs you from the first page. A devoted kidlit reader, Ashlee has a soft spot for speculative stories, mysteries, and anything delightfully weird.”

🚨Lots more info about her wish list can be found on her QueryTracker submission link, above.

According to her blog, Christa enjoys, “Character-driven picture books or plot driven with a fun twist. I’d love to read about a character (animal or human) who resonates with me and makes me want to read more. I especially like cute and funny stories with read-aloud potential. A nice, subtle message/moral is also a plus.”  She is also interested in picture book biographies of people of interest to kids.

🚨She accepts submissions via QueryTracker.

Courtney is open to author-illustrators only, for picture books.

On the agency website she says, “I'm looking for talented author-illustrators of picture books. From heartwarming to humorous, I'm eager to see unique storytelling combined with visually compelling artwork.”

Submit via Query Manager. And please note that Writers House requests that you only submit to one of their agents at a time.

🚨Alexandra is open to author-illustrators only, for picture books.

She says, “No matter the genre or age-range, I crave a distinctive voice and strong thematic point behind the work—I want to run screaming to my friends and family about your book because there is so much to discuss. I love character-driven stories that revolve around BIG topics (discussing things like mortality or grief in a new and hopefully somewhat uplifting way is always an instant lightbulb!). I'm not looking for 'issue books,’ rather I’d like to represent authors and stories that stand for more than just a good yarn; I’d like to represent creators who provoke conversations around important and necessary topics in our world today.”

🚨Submit via Query Manager. And please note that Writers House requests that you only submit to one of their agents at a time.
